Winning Typography Poster
"Show Us Your Type"
(Created in 2021**)
THE SCOPE
Conceptualize and execute a typographic poster representing Tehran for a global design competition. The goal was to seamlessly blend the city’s immense historical depth with its modern architectural identity, optimized for both digital publication and large-format print.
THE CHALLENGE
Typographic Fusion: Distill the cultural essence of the Azadi Tower purely through typography, organically blending fluid Farsi calligraphy with rigid Latin letterforms without any standard illustration.
Vector Complexity: Manage dense, intricate Persian geometric tile patterns in a way that prevents blurring or misregistration during large-format physical printing and reproduction of the artwork.
THE APPROACH
-
Structural Calligraphy: Structured the flowing rhythms of the Farsi script to form the sweeping, structural legs of the Azadi Tower, organically anchoring the modern Latin text.
-
Pre-Press Calibration: Utilized high-contrast negative space and a bold mustard background to make the blue vector tiles pop. Calibrated CMYK profiles to ensure deep, clean color opacity on press.
-
Textural Finish: Applied a uniform grain texture across all digital vectors to give the clean lines a tactile, authentic screen-print aesthetic.
THE RESULT
Officially selected by an international jury from a global pool of entrants. The poster is featured in the permanent Show Us Your Type Gallery, validating its structural integrity, cultural resonance, and precise print execution.

**DISCLAIMER:
This project, built in 2021, explores themes inspired by global cultures and architecture. I am deeply appreciative of the rich textures I've studied; at the same time, I want to express my personal support for the United States. My work is intended as a competitive spirit and an artistic homage and does not reflect an endorsement of any political policies or current diplomatic conflicts.
